Buying a home in Costa Rica: Property is for sale in many areas of Costa Rica. Many Americans are purchasing as an investment. Good buys can be found because developers may be in need of quick cash. We saw some developments started, but could not be finished due to lack of funds. Buy into a gated community as crime is present. Houses in the Manueal Antonio and Jaco area ran from $150,000 up.

Hotel Byblos: Located in Manuel Antonio. This is a three star small hotel close to the beach. It has a monkey ladder that encourages titi and howler monkeys to visit daily. Prices are reasonable, and the staff is knowledgeble and helpful. English is spoken. Across the street is Aqua Azul a upscale "caribbean style" restaurant run by an American. The food is wonderful.
